Tartar removal: how does tartar form?

How does tartar form? Various food residues and plaque build-up stick to the surface of the teeth, between the teeth and between the gums, which over time turn into tartar. The formation of tartar can be the basis of many dental problems, so it's worth having tartar removed as soon as possible to keep your teeth and gums healthy

Tartar removal: what are the causes of tartar build-up?

What is the cause of tartar build-up? Brushing your teeth is not enough to keep your teeth healthy and clean. At home, flossing can remove food particles trapped between teeth and gums where a toothbrush cannot reach. As well as flossing, mouthwash is also a good choice as it helps to reduce the amount of bacteria in the mouth, thus disinfecting the whole mouth. It is worth incorporating these dental tools into your daily oral care routine to reduce the chances of tartar build-up.

Complications in the absence of tartar removal

By regularly removing tartar, you wouldn't believe how many dental problems you could avoid. If we give plaque space, we are likely to encounter dental problems such as gingivitis, tooth decay, periodontal disease, bad breath, discoloured teeth and, in the worst case, tooth loss. That's why we always emphasise at our dental practice that you should have your tartar removed regularly every six months, which you can do in our practice during your professional dental hygiene treatment.

If you don't want to suffer from any of the above dental problems, then visit our practice for tartar removal by filling in the form below!
